Piece of Land is a project that emerged from my research on materiality as a symbol of the merging of science and art. This work symbolizes a practice I wish to form—or perhaps am already shaping—centered on the idea of letting go. The pictures you will see moving forward are fragments from my home, Dehradun, where I have spent 23 years of my life. Dehradun is a space that defined and paused me, often seen as a gallery where one can halt and simply enjoy life. It’s not just a place where I was raised but a space where I can be alone, though that space is also changing. Every time I return, I see changes—in the landscape, in the space, and in my memories. These changes are inevitable and not always bad, but as an individual, I reflect on them and use my knowledge to share these emotions.
Remember to PAUSE, HEAR, and LISTEN. Pause to see the change before it disappears, hear to know and preserve those stories, and listen because the stories are always being told. Creating this work is not about sharing my story but encouraging you to reflect on what in your life needs your attention.
